Avon simply stared at him for moment, then squeezed his hand. "Yes."

The word was insufficient. He wondered if it was possible to express exactly what he felt. Spoken language was so awkward. If only he could communicate more directly - more like a machine, in a language so complex and precise it defied words. "It was...a little overwhelming. In the most wonderful way, I assure you."

How to say that the act of trust in allowing himself to be tied up, physically controlled, was something he had never done before, despite his wide and varied experience? Despite his much-bragged-about intellect Avon was a tactile, physical man; he expressed in gestures, in action, what he often failed to put across in words. To be physically restrained, especially by someone so much stronger and faster than he was, meant something he couldn't find the words to explain.
