Data stood, loosely releasing Avon's hands to go to the front door... and proceed to lock it. And then to the windows to make sure the blinds were properly closed and even the windows were sealed.

And then back over to the bed, where he attempted that smug smirk again and tossed his hat off to the side.

If he was going to repair Avon's ego, it seemed only rational that he should do so by paying intense attention to him. Every part of him, with thorough detail rather than utilizing masterfully manipulative skill.

He went back to the closet and grabbed the one element of the costume he hadn't included; a length of rope. If anyone knocked on the door, they were going to be politely dismissed (or rudely, depending on the technician's opinions concerning the situation).

It was impossibly, dizzyingly good, and all he could do between moans of ecstasy was gasp out Data's name. He writhed against his bonds, eyelids fluttering as some more controlled portion of his brain wondered whether it was possible to actually pass out from this.

He held to Avon possessively, even if he was bound pressing against him like he might escape. He wrapped an arm around him, slipping it between Avon and the loose tunic, and gripped roughly at him to hold him in place.

He lowly muttered how wonderful he felt, how attractive he was, how much he loved the man beneath him. He handled him both roughly and carefully, pushing his limits of what Avon could take as he drove into him, but taking great care with every response and noise from the man to be aware of what he was doing.

Avon groaned almost continually, hearing everything, as overwhelmed by the love in Data's words as he was by the sex itself, unable to speak in response. He was so close now, bucking with every thrust, scarcely able to breathe from the pleasure and intensity, but not caring. He knew Data would allow no harm to come to him.

He tried to warn that he couldn't hold on for much longer but the words trapped in his throat and came out as a choked-off cry.

He found those moans as gratifying as anything Avon could have said, as well as the physical responses that accompanied the surges in emotion. His own awareness waned, though what he did have was deeply invested in the man bucking beneath him.

Data thrust one last time, holding him and stroking him through it. His brow furrowed and lips went slack as he allowed himself to teeter over the edge- to give in to the heat and pressure and words of the man beneath him. His whole body jolted with release, and he buried his face against his neck to hide his reaction.

Avon wanted to touch him, but the rope still held him in place and he let himself go limp, trembling with aftershocks that seemed to go on for eternity. There were not tears in his eyes, he told himself firmly; it was the chafing of the ropes making them water, that was all.

He had never been so shattered by sex, emotionally or physically. It was as much as he could do remember how to breathe.

It was the chafing that led Data to quickly undo those ropes, freeing up Avon's hands as he gently moved to hold one. Faint worry that he'd been too rough seeped into his adoration for the technician, and he propped himself up slightly to give Avon the least bit more breathing room. "Are you all right?"

Avon simply stared at him for moment, then squeezed his hand. "Yes."

The word was insufficient. He wondered if it was possible to express exactly what he felt. Spoken language was so awkward. If only he could communicate more directly - more like a machine, in a language so complex and precise it defied words. "It was...a little overwhelming. In the most wonderful way, I assure you."

How to say that the act of trust in allowing himself to be tied up, physically controlled, was something he had never done before, despite his wide and varied experience? Despite his much-bragged-about intellect Avon was a tactile, physical man; he expressed in gestures, in action, what he often failed to put across in words. To be physically restrained, especially by someone so much stronger and faster than he was, meant something he couldn't find the words to explain.

Data's brows climbed, unfortunately not knowing what the deeper ramifications were behind the yes, but he did return the squeeze to his hand. Despite Data's desire to communicate like a human above all else, discourse in such a primitive form, he could see that Avon wanted to tell him more and wished that for that instance he could.

It would have to suffice that he indeed didn't hurt him, and he slowly untangled himself from Avon's legs, shifting to lay beside of him and rest his hand on his chest. His gaze was ever-affectionate (if curious, sometimes), and after that display of strength his own actions spoke with the gentle rub of his thumb over Avon's heart.

"I was concerned. It was my first time restraining someone... for that purpose..." He shifted and trailed off, wiping at Avon's eye just as tenderly.

Avon smiled, as he remembered that there was no trickery here, no manipulation, no double-speak. That he could explain because Data would try to understand, and more importantly would not judge.

"This was a profound experience for me - a level of trust I didn't think I was capable of, with anyone. I didn't expect it to be quite so...intense, emotionally." He leaned forward to brush his lips against Data's. "Most of the relationships I have experienced before involved power, control, manipulation. It has been...difficult for me to learn that not all love comes down to a struggle for dominance." He smiled again, with a touch of rare self-deprecation. "I hope you realise just how much you have taught me about humanity, Data."

Data listened quietly as Avon explained, fingers trailing along the side of his face. "Then that is a very significant thing you have given me... and I can not offer you anything else in return. I have already given you everything that I can possibly think to give..."

At least he knew in his efforts to be more human, that he'd actually succeeded in being a good one.

"I would give you whatever you required... you should not be afraid to ask." He leaned in, hugging his arms around Avon and rolling him back onto his back to kiss him.

"All that you have given me is more than enough. More than I ever expected to have." He returned the kiss, very relaxed now.

He pulled back, shutting his eyes and leaning his head against Avon's. For a bit, just quiet.

Rarely quiet. Obviously thinking deeply. It took him a bit to speak.

"You also give me real purpose. You make me a person."

"No, I am not... adequately choosing my words. Every day, I make an effort to prove my value as an individual. I work to place myself in a position in which I am found to be important. With you, I have always been intrigued with what you give to me. I-"

He looked a little unhappy at being unable to explain, his emotions fumbling. They were still expanding, still growing. And they didn't allow for him to describe that he had always worked with Avon. From the very start, he had been at least as important as a member of the Enterprise bridge crew. Here he constantly struggled to impress people, and Avon made him feel accepted. "I do need you for that."

Avon squeezed his hand. "I understand. At least, I think so. And if I make you feel that way, then I am very glad of it, and honoured by it."

Data settled, giving Avon a meaningful look as he rubbed his chafed wrist lightly, pondering getting dressed and going to get a dermal regenerator for the man.

"I suppose this is similar to me trusting you with the location of my power switch."

"Perhaps," he agreed. "You can be sure I would never misuse that information. No matter how often you talk when I'm trying to sleep," he teased.

That earned another doggish slant of his brows as he was teasingly prodded, as he had thought Avon didn't mind his talking, and he took it as a hint to keep quiet for the moment since he guessed the technician would likely be tired. Instead, he just rested against him.

Avon, who was aware that Data sometimes took teasing more literally than it was intended, gave him a gentle nudge. "You do know I was joking, don't you? I would rather listen to you talk - about anything - than sleep."

Sleeping rarely held any pleasures for Avon, accompanied as it generally was by bad, or at least disturbing, dreams.

"Good. When I get some gauze to reinforce your wrists and you have sufficiently recovered, we should attempt it again."

Almost anxiously, because Data rarely was ever trusted with that sort of power over anything. Every bit of trust he had to scramble and clamor for because of people like his brother.

He got another sort of gratification out of it, entirely different but equally important.

"You wouldn't be so cruel," he smiled. "I would only have to flutter my eyelashes and say please," he suited his actions to the words, "and you wouldn't be able to help yourself."

The 'I'm harmless, please don't hurt me' act had got him both out of and into trouble many times, but he stood by it.
